"Time to drink champagne and dance on the table.."

Lydia and Steve

Today we are showcasing the jaw-dropping wedding of Lydia and Steve who got married in May of this year in Abbeyleix Church of the Most Holy Rosary, with their reception held in the spectacular Castle Durrow Co. Laois, Ireland. A seriously grand affair with a modern twist.

The couple at first weren’t sure on a colour scheme “When we first started wedding planning we were a little bemused by the idea of a theme!” but in the end they went for metallics contrasted with a beautiful dark teal.

We supplied the couple with table linen for their feature tables – our sequin champagne tablecloth adorned their Sweet tables, and our gold sequin tablecloth sparkled on the guest signing table (or guest globe in this case).

Lydia told us “I came across sequin cloths while on one of my many Pinterest hunts and knew that we had to have them for our feature tables. It was surprisingly difficult to source good quality cloths that weren't ridiculously expensive and I nearly gave up a couple of times until I came across Magpie Linens. Once I saw that I could hire the cloths I knew it was perfect!”

Silver also featured strongly in the wedding; Lydia’s dress had an applied silver diamante design across her waist and shoulders, and take a look at the back! Just stunning! Silver is also seen in the Groom’s tie and the enormous candelabras on the tables.

We love Lydia and Steve’s attention to detail with the pops of teal throughout.

“From start to finish it was so easy dealing with Magpie Linens and they were so helpful even offering advice on which colour/pattern would look best and sizes. Excellent customer service which is exactly what you need in the run up to your wedding day!”

Elen and Aled's White Welsh Wedding

Elen and Aled

In June of this year Elen married Aled at Sylen Lakes in Five Roads, Llanelli in Wales. A self-confessed girly girl the wedding featured beautiful shades of pinks and golds.

The couple’s elegant table decor looks so crisp and fresh with the white linen and transparent tall vases, complimented perfectly by our champagne sequin table runners and cloth.

Magpie linens were so helpful when it came to choosing the right shade of gold I wanted to compliment the shade of pink I was having, sending me numerous samples before I made up my mind. I highly recommend if you want to add a unique touch to your wedding.”

Elen choose feminine pinks in the form of roses and carnations amongst baby’s breath and green foliage in her centrepieces. Every glittery table number was displayed within a pale pink frame with a short note underneath highlighting the significance of the number to the couple (how sweet!).

We love the boldness of the cakes - continuing the simplicity of the white seen throughout; the couple shook things up with gold sequin-like tiers and pretty piped flowers.

Many thanks to Elen for supplying images of her wedding to us (copyright Pure Creations Photography) – we wish you and Aled every success for your future together x

Maria and Nick's Pink and Gold Wedding

In today's blog post we bring you the wedding of Maria and Nick, who tied the knot in May of this year in the US.

Their wedding featured one of my all-time favourite colour combinations - blush pink and gold.

The couple complimented the oh so pretty pink roses with our blush sequinned cake cloth, which looks so beautiful teamed with the gold in the cake.

Maria also purchased our dramatic gold sequin tablecloths that were matched with  personalised champagne flutes and sparkly table numbers.

We absolutely love the blush and the gold coming together-it has such an elegant and feminine feel to it

Congratulations to Maria and Nick - we wish you all the best for your future together!

Fiona and Richard's Glam Wedding

Fiona and Richard

In April of this year Fiona married Richard in Drumbeg Parish Church, Co. Down. They wanted a black-tie glamorous feel to the day, and this was reflected in Fiona's stunning gown and full-length veil; a perfect match to Richard's classic black Tuxedo.

There were accents of gold, shimmer and candlelight throughout the ceremony and reception decor.

Fiona hired our gold sequin runners for her reception tables which perfectly tied in with the Hollywood style glamour of the day..

Whilst full gold sequin tablecloths adorned the top table and cake table.

And the bridesmaids also sparkled in gorgeous sequin dresses.

"During the wedding planning small things can be stressful, so it was great Magpie Linens were so easy to deal with, as they were always quick to respond and worked well with the hotel so that everything was set up and taken down without us having to do anything." Fiona explained, "We were so happy with the tablecloths and how they looked and tied our theme together. They added something very special to the day."

We wish Fiona and Richard all the happiness for their future together, thanks Fiona for supplying the images (copyright Dayle Fullerton).
