A Vintage Wedding with Extra Sparkle

Today we are sharing a beautiful, sunny wedding that took place in Sheffield. Happy couple, Marie and Duncan tied the knot in September 2015, at the stunning Mosborough Hall, a 12th century manor house. Nestled in the tranquil countryside, this wedding was an ultra glam affair with some serious sparkle!

Marie and Duncan opted for a vintage theme for their wedding day, with a colour scheme of classic cream and dusky pinks. Marie explains, “That’s why I wanted to hire the sequin table runners to add that extra sparkle to the day”. The happy couple hired our rose pink sequin table runners, which fitted in perfectly with their wedding theme. The couple’s gorgeous table décor looks beautiful with the pink sequin table runners and place settings. They definitely added a touch of glamour to their special day!

Marie was a particularly crafty bride, and made the majority of the wedding decorations herself! “It was a fairly big DIY wedding!” Marie made everything from the invitations to the DIY photo-booth and we must admit, we’re extremely impressed. A family friendly kindly donated some gorgeous vintage tea cups and sauces, which Marie added cream and pretty pink artificial roses to – this added to the overall ‘vintage’ feel of their big day and looked lovely with the pink sequin table runners.

This beautiful bride wore a show-stopping wedding gown, fit for a princess! She also accessorised with an incredibly cute, vintage umbrella – perfect for those all important wedding photographs. They used a vintage car as transport that complemented their big day perfectly.

We wish Marie and Duncan all the happiness for their future as a married couple. Thank you to photographer, Jill Robertson of Temporal Photography & Art for providing the images.

Fiona and Richard's Glam Wedding

Fiona and Richard

In April of this year Fiona married Richard in Drumbeg Parish Church, Co. Down. They wanted a black-tie glamorous feel to the day, and this was reflected in Fiona's stunning gown and full-length veil; a perfect match to Richard's classic black Tuxedo.

There were accents of gold, shimmer and candlelight throughout the ceremony and reception decor.

Fiona hired our gold sequin runners for her reception tables which perfectly tied in with the Hollywood style glamour of the day..

Whilst full gold sequin tablecloths adorned the top table and cake table.

And the bridesmaids also sparkled in gorgeous sequin dresses.

"During the wedding planning small things can be stressful, so it was great Magpie Linens were so easy to deal with, as they were always quick to respond and worked well with the hotel so that everything was set up and taken down without us having to do anything." Fiona explained, "We were so happy with the tablecloths and how they looked and tied our theme together. They added something very special to the day."

Ashleigh and Craig's Autumnal Wedding

We are delighted to showcase the wedding of the gorgeous Ashleigh and Craig who got married last October in North Yorkshire. They hired our lovely gold and white chevron sequin runners and used them to their maximum potential.

The gold in the sequin runners was beautifully complimented by the sparkly gold candle holders and gold letters, and we love the huge floodlit marquee letters! Ashleigh was looking to add some autumnal warmth by adding in pops of gold, which we think she pulled off beautifully.

The hot pink marigolds, burnt sunflowers and orange roses in the bouquet and centrepieces bring such an elegant, warm and fun look to this wedding. The orange, yellow and navy is carried through to the cake and what a cake it is - it has been beautifully decorated in feminine flowers and rosettes. To top it all off the bride wore Jimmy Choo’s – a girl after my own heart!

Ashleigh told us “The reception was wonderful, fantastic food and celebrating with our friends and family. We loved the runners, they looked fab on the tables. The whole process of hiring from Magpie Linens was so easy from start to finish - with so much going on it was great to have something that came with no stress!”

We wish Ashleigh and Craig all the happiness for their future together. Thanks Ashleigh for sharing your images with us (© Victoria Edwards Photography)

Real Wedding - Andrea & Peter

I was so pleased this week to see an email pop up on my screen from Andrea, a bride I had the pleasure of supplying some sequin linen to in August. As I scrolled through the stunning images (courtesy of Lauren Fair Photography), I knew this would be the perfect feature for this, my very first Real Wedding blog post!

Andrea and Peter tied the knot at the spectacular Cairnwood Estate in Pennsylvania. (You just know it's going to be a swoon-worthy wedding when the venue's tag line is 'Experience the grandeur of the gilded age')

Andrea opted for blush tones running throughout the decor, peppered with subtle hints of glitter and gold.

The chevron sequin, paired with blush flowers and foliage runners, are proof indeed that sequin linens are the perfect accompaniment for an elegant wedding.

The happy couple used our rose gold tablecloth for their sweetheart table, framed by a wooden screen bearing the lyrics of You Are The Best Thing (by Ray LaMontagne, not nineties one hit wonder D-Ream, in case you were wondering).

More rose gold sequin cloths were used as accent pieces throughout the reception.

And what a beautiful bride Andrea made.

Plus, any bride that matches her tablecloths to her sparkly clutch is a friend of mine...

Wishing Andrea and Peter the very best in their new life together.

English Garden styled photoshoot

Back in the summer we supplied some of our linens for a styled 'English Garden' shoot by Sanshine Photography, and here is the end result. And what an antidote to this chilly December morning it is.

Stylist Charlotte Munro has paired our delicate blush sequin cake table cloth with soft pastels and delicate vintage styling.

Meanwhile the co-ordinating tablecloths have accents of punchy pink blooms and lush green foliage.

Seriously, how spectacular are the flowers, by Indeco Flowers?

It's getting us very excited about all the upcoming Spring weddings we are supplying gorgeous linens for! One trend we are hoping to see continue into next year is the floral crown - would you rock one on your big day?

This is just a snippet of the shoot featuring some amazing vendors; I'd really recommend downloading the current issue of Ultimate Weddings Magazine to see the rest.
